Conservation Experience
•2014-2016: Manta Conservation in Peru with Planeta Oceano— Providing alternative livelihoods to manta and
mobula fishermen through ecotourism training; research on the distribution of oceanic manta rays in Peruvian
waters. This project contributed significantly to Peruvian legislation passed in 2016 to protect manta rays.

•2011: REEF Grouper Moon Project — Outreach & Awareness campaign including magazine articles,
informational brochures and a public service announcement. This campaign contributed to the 10 year extension
of protection measures for a critical Nassau grouper spawning site.

•2007-2011: Dominican Republic MPAs with Indiana University — Marine Protected Area creation,
implementation & monitoring in the Dominican Republic.
